How to Apply
Scholarships are awarded through an annual programme. Applications for the Wingate Scholarships Programme 2010 will be accepted from October 1, 2009 until the deadline for receipt of applications at 17.00 hours on Monday February 1, 2010.
If you would like to apply for a Scholarship starting in September 2010 please first of all read the Eligibility and Criteria section Eligibility and Criteria to check that you are eligible to apply and are able to meet the criteria for funding - you can download a pdf version Eligibility, Criteria & Conditions 2010.
Then please read carefully through the Guidance on how to apply 2010 first before you start to fill in your application form. We are no longer funding PhD studies as such - please see separate guidance notes on Doctoral and Post Doctoral Research.

The Application Form for Scholarships 2010 is available to download from this web site and can be submitted from 1 October 2009 to the deadline on 1 February 2010. Please use only the form from this website, and keep to the same layout, font size and number of pages. Forms that have been altered or extended beyond four pages will not be accepted. You will also need to download two copies of the Referees Form and Guidance 2010 to send to your referees. If you have difficulty downloading the forms contact: enquiries@wingate.org.uk

Wingate awards are never given without personal interviews which take place in London at various dates during May so applicants will need to be available in person during that month. Interviews cannot be conducted by telephone. All applicants will receive either an invitation to interview or notification that they have been unsuccessful by the end of April. Final decisions are made by the end of June for awards starting the following September 2010. Applications sent from overseas are not accepted and all applicants must be contactable in the UK from October 2009 to July 2010. Previous scholarship holders cannot re-apply.
